We are a textile design studio dedicated to prints and colors.

« Sub rosa » is a Latin expression meaning “under secret”, suggesting the confidentiality of the textile designer work. Sub Rosa is a four hands studio run by Léa Lacasa and Mopsa Marciano, two textile designers who met during their studies. Together, they design custom-made textile prints and ennoblements - any decorative finishes applied to an existing fabric, for fashion and interior.

« Sub rosa » is also a wink at the hidden value of discarded textiles, produced in excess or relegated as waste. Sub Rosa sees the different ennobling techniques as tools to upcycle them.

Since 2019, Sub Rosa runs workshops in visual arts, design or fashion schools.

  • LÉA LACASA — Textile designer, prints and colors

Léa graduated from ENSAV la Cambre textile design option in 2017. She developed ennoblements for the Sericyne silk and drew prints for Christian Lacroix (interior and accessories) in Paris, before becoming a freelance textile print designer.

Since 2019, she has been giving color classes at the IFM Bachelor of arts in fashion design. She occasionally runs workshops in other programs (Enamoma, Ateliers de Sèvres).

  • MOPSA MARCIANO — Textile designer, screen printing and ennobling

Mopsa graduated from ENSAV la Cambre textile design option in 2015. She worked as a textile ennobler for haute couture at Anne Gelbard, before setting up her textile ennobling atelier in Brussels.

Mopsa brings this practice within the reach of children and young people with workshops of co-creation through different structures. She is the co-founder of Rag, a project of valorization of textile waste on the Belgian industrial network.
